Thanks to the groundwork laid by those Ralph “Uncle Ralph” McDaniels, Fab 5 Freddy, Ted Demme (RIP), Stan Lathan and Matt McDaniel to just name a few; KPLtv is serving notice that we're a brand you can trust to bring you dope content!

On February 28, 2010 MC's Myka Nyne, Jupiter, P.E.A.C.E, and Aceyalone, along with DJ Killu Grand, got together for a "freestyle" at the Annual KPLtv House Party. The mics were live as the group demonstrated why their the original West Coast rap intelligentsia. Nurtured by the Goodlife Cafe's open mic Thursdays, this band of emcees went on to influence the entire hip-hop world with their 1993 release, Inner City Griots; considered by many to be among the best albums of the 90's. Recently reunited, the group (like us) is serving notice to MCs everywhere to step their bars up. And now, the KPLtv Rec Room proudly presents the original bullies on the block, LA's own FREESTYLE FELLOWSHIP.

This session was the most intense of all of our tapings at DJ Kiilu Grand's studio last year, because Myka 9 is a certified BEAST. He's been your favorite rapper's favorite rapper since the late 80's. No matter what coast. No matter what planet. Myka 9 is one of the best MC's to ever touch a microphone. The chemistry between DJ Kiilu and Myka 9 is also something to marvel. Regardless where the beat goes, these two are forever on point. I guess this what you get when you bring two-fifths of FREESTYLE FELLOWSHIP together - HIP HOP in its purest form. Here Myka 9 performs his verse off of the single "Mike, Aaron & Eddie" from the Haiku D'Etat album, Coup de Theatre.

After cutting the promo in January '09 with David LLama on Graphics, the bar was set high for us to create a fantastic visually stimulating 4 hour documentary series. There were three directors on the project; however, it was my common bond with Director with Michael Rivoira that made this more than a job, but an adventure I'm still living. Shout out to the whole Icons Team.

This feature aired on Game Day Morning, NFL Network, October 12, 2008. Gil Knight, was the Producer, and, the reason I work at the Network. So, I had to bring my A game. A guy name Jim, from Santa Barbara, DP'ed (shot) it. Jim's camera instincts, angles and motion were excellent. In retrospect, editing this feature felt like jazz...the timing, the characters, the team dynamics. It was a joy - like the Fellowship!

Seed Gives Life x GLA x Dirt Hollywood Collabo

CELEBRATION OF DEZ'S "DO THE DEW" It was a night of celebration in Houston as friends and fans alike came out to celebrate with Dez. As the guests entered the gallery they viewed Dez's initial sketch that inspired his "Do the Dew" bottle design. This was one of many pieces of artwork Dez surprised the crowd with at the exhibit. Partygoers were in for a treat as Bun B hosted the evening's festivities and DJ Cipher provided the soundtrack. The diverse crowd went crazy mid event when a special delivery arrived for Dez from New Era. The crowd was treated to an impromptu fitted cap signing session until there were none left. At the end of the night everyone was all smiles and one last set of props was due to Dez, the man of the night.

This feature is where it all came together for me, as an editor, at the NFL Network. The producer, Becky (from Florida), and I told the best story possible with the elements we were given. It was the second time Becky and I worked together, and, for me the pressure was on because our Jason Whitten piece that we did last year didn't air; but, like I said, that was last season. This feature aired Week 3 of the 2008 Season, 9/21/08, on NFL Game Day Morning, NFL Network.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Galveston, Texas and its surrounding areas.
